Our Story

At D’s, we value customer service above all else. D’s Garden Center is a family-operated plant nursery in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. We have a handy site on Pecue Lane, just off Highland Road, and we recently built a second D's Garden Center store at 2544 Government Street in Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70806. Visit our new location

Bulbs are in stock now!!! Caladiums & elephant ears should be planted during spring to early summer, after the last frost has passed! Now is a great time to start prepping! Before planting, wait until the temperature is remaining at least 60° and soil temperatures are at least 65°🌡️ Oxalis & Strawberries prefer to be planted in the spring. Hostas, Lily of the Valley, Blackberries & Asparagus can be planted in the spring or early fall. Potatoes should be planted now to ensure harvest before the first frost date! You can plant them in pots, hanging baskets, or in your landscaping. Be sure to plant them right side up and pay close attention to specific plant care needs! Happy planting!🤠🌱🫚🪻

We carry way more than just Christmas trees this holiday season! Check out our variety of cyclamen and Christmas cactus for some low maintenance blooms! Red and white amaryllis are available as well as the wax amaryllis bulbs🥰 The wax bulbs are so easy because they don’t need to be watered AT ALL!! That is one happy Hoya😁 If I could pick one of my favorite items in the shop… it would be this Hoya/bird cage combo! We simply placed the (much smaller) Hoya inside the cage a little less than a year ago, and boy has it taken over! It’s giving me such tropical vibes 🌴

Let’s water some Air Plants!🚿 These dainty plants are super easy to care for! Like the name suggests, they don’t need soil to grow! Care is easy with bright indirect light ☀️ To water, you can spray them about 3 times a week or soak them 1x a week for about 10-30 minutes! I find that it is better to soak them, but do whatever is most convenient for you!!

Snapdragons are a fall favorite bedding plant! Varieties available: Candy showers (trailing), tall sonnet snapdragons, & dwarf snapshot snapdragons Snapdragons do great in full sun but can tolerate partial shade. They are perfect for garden beds but also look great as a filler in a potted arrangement! 4” $2.99 6” $6.99
This Dracaena is so symmetrical and satisfying 😌 Dracaena’s are one of my favorite low maintenance houseplants! This one definitely needs to be bumped up into a bigger pot, but it didn’t seem to mind this tiny pot at all! They prefer bright, indirect light☀️ The soil should stay moist during spring-fall and go drier during winter❄️

Today we honor the life of Vilma Relimpio Duffy. She lived 94 amazing years; she was the rock and foundation of the Duffy family. She was vibrant, compassionate, selfless, and faithful. She taught us so many things, one being that family is everything. Her legacy will live on in her four children, nine grandchildren, and fourteen (soon to be seventeen) great grandchildren.
